As you probably know, yoga postures are only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the holistic practice of yoga.
One area that many Western yogis know little about is what is called svarodaya, or svara yoga.
Said in what many might consider a fairly crass way, svara yoga is the study of how your breath is flowing in and out of your nostrils :-).
The ancient yogis discovered that our breath changes with our moods and shifts of energy. Yep, turns out that which nostril(s) we’re breathing through actually says a lot about our mental space and even how we would optimally be spending our time.
